Benita Skinner

Nature has always called Benita Skinner and now she is getting to live off grid in a forest.  It’s not always easy, but she loves it.  Benita is celebrating 20 years of quilting this month of June in 2021.  I’m sure you’re going to love her unique style!

So good to hear Benita’s story in her own voice. Such a brave and talented lady. Her off-the-grid letters take me right there to her forest in Nova Scotia. Thanks for sharing with us.

Truly enjoyed Benita’s story. I love fabric & sewing too; so cute when she mentioned “Little House on the Prarie” as guiding her to quilts. I used to sew clothes for our Girls and myself in the early years of our marrisge. Now am attempting quilts. I gave made some, but find that if I have trouble, they do not get finished. Thought it was kind of Benita to say that mistakes in quilts give them character! Thanks again….

Oh I loved hearing your voice – I envy your lifestyle.. I’m an ol’ country gal and miss it. Your encounters with the wildlife is so touching. I think of you so often. I have 2 of your applique patterns (which I’ve shared w/you) hanging in my sewing room. They just turned out too pretty to store away. Blessings to you and your kitties.. Thanks for all your patterns and stories..
